Kenan Thompson
I have been watching Saturday Night Live all of my life and for the past 14 years, that has included seeing Kenan Thompson. That sets him tied with Darrell Hammond for most seasons appearing on SNL since the show began in 1975. He was the first actor to join the show that was born after the show was launched and he has portrayed the most number of celebrity impressions. My favorite characters he plays are Charles Barkley (opposite Shaquille O’Neal), David Ortiz, hosting Black Jeopardy, and Willie, the optimist who guests on Weekend Update.
Kenan was born in Atlanta, appeared on multiple Nickelodeon productions including the show Kenan and Kel 1996-2000, Good Burger in 1997 but his first film role was in D2: The Mighty Ducks in 1994. He has since been in Fat Albert, Snakes on a Plane, done voice work for The Smurfs 1 & 2, and most recently was in Brother Nature with fellow SNL alumni. He also appears in Going in Style, currently in theatres starring Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine. I look forward to seeing more of his work because he looks like he really enjoys what he is doing, he is clearly having fun up there on stage every Saturday night, and not taking it too seriously.
