Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow was born in Los Angeles, California, got her first acting credit for the tv movie High (1989 drama written and directed by her father Bruce Paltrow), and won an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Shakespeare in Love (1998 drama opposite Joseph Fiennes). Since appearing as Pepper Potts in Iron Man (2008 action with Robert Downey Jr.), Paltrow has continued the character most recently in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and will again in the next two Avengers films. Early in her career she appeared as the young Wendy in Hook (1991 adventure with Robin Williams), only a few years before being in Se7en (1995 crime opposite Brad Pitt). Paltrow at the end of the 1990’s often played the love interest in dramatic and romantic films, helping her co-stars look good in such films as Great Expectations (1998 with Ethan Hawke), A Perfect Murder (1998 with Michael Douglas), and The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999 with Matt Damon). She then made more comedic films such as The Royal Tenenbaums (2001 written and directed by Wes Anderson), Shallow Hal (2001 with Jack Black), Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004 with Jude Law), before switching back to more dramatic films such as Proof (2005 with Anthony Hopkins), Infamous (2006 with Toby Jones), Two Lovers (2008 with Joaquin Phoenix), and Contagion (2011 directed by Steven Soderbergh).
Thank you and Happy 45th Gwyneth!
