Timothy Olyphant
Timothy was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, swam competitively in university, performed some stand-up comedy, and was acting in off-Broadway shows by age 27. He made his film debut in The First Wives Club (with Goldie Hawn in 1996), was in Scream 2 (with Neve Campbell in 1997), Go (directed by Doug Liman in 1999), and A Man Apart (with Vin Diesel in 2003). Larger roles came for Timothy in Live Free or Die Hard and Hitman (both in 2007), The Crazies (2010), and tv shows Deadwood (2004-2006), and Justified (2010-2015). Olyphant was nominated for an Emmy for his role in Justified and can currently be seen in the tv show Santa Clarita Diet (with Drew Barrymore).
One of my favorite characters in movies was Timothy’s in The Girl Next Door (2004). He played the bad boy, wore a leather jacket, bossed people around, and stole every scene he was in. It was not a lead role in the film, Emile Hirsch and Elisha Cuthbert were, but Timothy knew exactly how to fit his role into the movie. Similar to other roles of his, like A Perfect Getaway (with Milla Jovovich in 2009) and Mother’s Day (with Jennifer Aniston in 2016), Timothy has an ability to make characters that help make a more well rounded film. He also makes his costars better with his performances. I wanted to see more of the buddy cop pairing of him and Delroy Lindo (Gone in Sixty Seconds in 2000) and more of the heartbreaking relationship with Tina Fey (This is Where I Leave You in 2014). He can be funny, he can be serious, but he is always confident in his abilities and does not shy away from trying different genres.
Thank you and Happy Birthday Timothy!
