Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan

In my formative years, Pierce Brosnan was James Bond and I loved him in those so I will always be a fan of his. Starring in Goldeneye in 1994, Brosnan played the character with wit, fun, and delivered on the action too. He made 4 Bond movies (1994-2002) and wanted to make more (I wanted him to as well). Specifically to have a darker take on the character which was done in the Bond franchise after him. With more than one suave action hero on his resume, Pierce easily can portray characters that are dangerous but do not appear to be, After the Sunset (with Salma Hayek in 2004), The Matador (with Greg Kinnear in 2005), and The November Man (2014). I also liked seeing another side of him, icy in Mrs. Doubtfire, when he sang in Mamma Mia! and hammed it up in Mars Attacks! The type of seriousness he portrayed in those films helped elevate the humor in them, he clearly understands his role in the films he is in.

Pierce is from Navan, Ireland, was acting on stage in his twenties, and became well known for his starring role in the tv show Remington Steele in 1982. Even before the show ended it’s run in 1987, the James Bond producers had offered him the role. It was because of Bond that I knew who he was so I looked for him in anything else and I was not disappointed with his roles in The Lawnmower Man (1992), Dante’s Peak (with Linda Hamilton in 1997), and The Ghost Writer (with Ewan McGregor in 2010). Between Bond films he started a production company, Irish DreamTime, that helped make The Thomas Crown Affair (with Rene Russo in 1999), Laws of Attraction (with Julianne Moore in 2004), I.T. (2016), and more (all having Pierce in them). When not filming, Pierce likes to paint and is a proud supporter of human rights issues, the environment, and done years of charitable work putting his fame to work for great causes. You can see Brosnan most recently in the tv show The Son and watch for many more films coming soon.

Thank you and Happy Birthday Pierce!
