Remembering John Heard

John Heard was born on March 7th, 1946 in Washington, D.C., and was most recognized for his role as Macaulay Culkin’s father in Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2 (1992). Heard passed away on July 21st at the age of 72. He began in off-Broadway productions in the early 1970s, his first acting credit was the tv movie Valley Forge (1975 war drama about George Washington), and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Guest Actor in The Sopranos (1999). Some films he was in include The Trip to Bountiful (1985 drama with Geraldine Page), Big (1988 comedy with Tom Hanks), Awakenings (1990 drama with Robert De Niro), The Pelican Brief (1993 drama with Julia Roberts), My Fellow Americans (1996 comedy with Jack Lemmon), One Eight Seven (1997 drama with Samuel L. Jackson), and The Great Debaters (2007 drama with Denzel Washington). Heard headlined the thriller P.J. (2008), Stealing Roses (2012 drama comedy), was most recently in So B. It (2016 drama with Jacinda Barrett), Searching for Fortune (2017 drama with Brian Smolensky), Prey for Rain (2017 drama with Jane Seymour), and will next be seen in Last Rampage (drama with Heather Graham).
