Amy Adams
Amy Adams was born in Vicenza, Veneto, Italy, raised in Castle Rock, Colorado, worked as a dancer in dinner theatre, and got her first acting credit for Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999 comedy with Kirsten Dunst). She may be best known for the Disney fantasy Enchanted (2007 with Susan Sarandon), or a number of dramatic performances, 5 of which earned her an Oscar nomination; Junebug (2005 with Embeth Davidtz set in Southern America), Doubt (2008 with Meryl Streep involving a Catholic school), The Fighter (2010 boxing with Mark Wahlberg), The Master (2012 about a naval veteran with Joaquin Phoenix), and American Hustle (2013 crime film with Christian Bale). Adams is able to quietly deliver strong characters, not afraid to casually use her charms, and makes it look easy to then escalate her emotions. In tv between 2000-2006, Amy appeared in episodes of That ’70s Show, Charmed, Smallville, The West Wing, and The Office. She also had roles in Catch Me If You Can (2002 crime with Leonardo DiCaprio), The Wedding Date (2005 romantic comedy with Debra Messing), Talladega Nights (2006 comedy with Will Ferrell), Charlie Wilson’s War (2007 drama with Tom Hanks), Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009 comedy with Ben Stiller), Julie & Julia (2009 drama again with Meryl Streep), The Muppets (2011 comedy with Jason Segel), Trouble with the Curve (2012 drama with Clint Eastwood), Man of Steel (2013 action with Henry Cavill), and it’s sequel Batman v Superman (2016). Adams was most recently in Arrival (2016 sci-fi involving aliens with Jeremy Renner), Nocturnal Animals (2016 thriller based on the Austin Wright novel with Jake Gyllenhaal), and is will next be starring in the series Sharp Objects (crime drama she is also executive producing), Justice League (a third film as Lois Lane), an untitled Dick Cheney film (drama with Christian Bale and Steve Carell), and Disenchanted (a sequel to Enchanted with James Marsden and Patrick Dempsey).
Thank you and Happy Birthday Amy!
