Tim Blake Nelson

Tim Blake Nelson

I first took notice of Tim in the Coen brothers directed O, Brother Where Art Thou? (2000). He played Delmar alongside George Clooney and John Turturro (frequent Coen bros. collaborators), and he has wrote and directed Eye of God (1997), The Grey Zone (2001), and Anesthesia (2015). He played a character who was not as sharp as the other 2 and he got my biggest laughs watching it. He may not be the lead in most movies but he makes memorable characters out of the screen time he gets. That being said, he is currently filming a lead role in The True Don Quixote.

Tim was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is well educated, (Brown University and Juilliard to name 2). He also often works with the same actors and directors. He costarred again with George Clooney in Syriana (2005), costarred with Edward Norton in The Incredible Hulk and Leaves of Grass (the later he also wrote and directed), and he has no fewer than 7 roles in James Franco films. When he was at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, he said he learned from all the different types of artists there. What was important to him was studying the discipline of painters, photographers, and musicians. I wonder if that helped him when he sang on the soundtrack for O, Brother Where Art Thou? which won a grammy for album of the year?

Thank you and Happy Birthday Tim!
