Kristen Wiig

Kristen Wiig was born in Canandaigua, New York, majored in Art in university, got her first film credit as an extra in Melvin Goes to Dinner (2003 comedy directed by Bob Odenkirk), and is most known for Saturday Night Live (138 episodes, 2005-2014) and Bridesmaids (2011 comedy which she was nominated for an Oscar for co-writing). In television, Wiig has appeared in The Joe Schmo Show (2003 comedy, her first tv credit), 30 Rock, Flight of the Concords, Portlandia, Arrested Development, and Wet Hot American Summer (a followup is in the works). After debuting on SNL, Wiig has acted in numerous comedies such as Knocked Up (2007 with Seth Rogan), Extract (2009 with Jason Bateman), MacGruber (2010 with Will Forte), Date Night (2010 with Steve Carell), and Anchorman 2 (2013 with Will Ferrell). She has done voice work for the How to Train Your Dragon franchise (2010-2014), the Despicable Me franchise (2010-2017), SpongeBob SquarePants (2011), The Looney Tunes Show (2011-2013), The Simpsons (2011-2013), and Sausage Party (2016).

In addition to comedy and voice work, Kristen has acted in Whip It (2009 sport drama with Ellen Page), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013 adventure drama with Ben Stiller), The Diary of a Teenage Girl (2015 drama with Alexander Skarsgård), and The Martian (2015 sci-fi with Matt Damon). Often working with fellow SNL actors, be sure to check out The Skeleton Twins (2014 comedy drama with Bill Hader) about estranged twins who reunite and try to patch up their relationship. The banter and chemistry between the two make for a great brother/sister film with plenty of laughs and tears. In 2016 she was in the comedies Zoolander 2 (again with Ben Stiller), Ghostbusters (with Melissa McCarthy), Masterminds (with Zach Galifianakis), and will next be seen in the series The Last Man on Earth (again with Will Forte), Downsizing (comedy again with Matt Damon), Mother! (horror mystery with Jennifer Lawrence), and Where’d You Go, Bernadette (comedy with Cate Blanchett).

Thank you and Happy Birthday Kristen!
