Birthdays January 19
Celebrating a birthday today are 4 stars of television. Jodie Sweetin, who plays Stephanie in Full House and Fuller House, turns 36 and watch for her in a new thriller series Strange Ones coming out later this year. Katey Sagal, who starred as Peggy in Married with Children, voiced Leela in Futurama, and was Gemma Teller Morrow in Sons of Anarchy turns 64, and is currently appearing as Randy DeLuca in Superior Donuts. I grew up watching Full House, only a couple years behind Sweetin in age, and remember her growing up while acting more mature over the years. She may also be the biggest reason I would watch the new series which just aired its third season. I also remember growing up sneaking down the hallway late at night to see glimpses of Married with Children that my dad was watching. It was crude then too, and funny, and Sagal’s character is what I watched it for. How poorly she was treated got one laugh, but how she got her revenge and treated others always got a second and bigger laugh. Drea de Matteo, known for Adriana La Cerva in Sopranos and Gina Tribbiani in Joey, turns 46, and was most recently seen in Shades of Blue. Elizabeth Tulloch, Juliette Silverton from Grimm, turns 37 and was most recently seen in We Love You, Sally Carmichael. The Sopranos was one of my favorite series to watch, mixing mobster and family drama, and de Matteo was perfectly cast as she nailed the accent (she is from Queens), and sold the heartbreak that world would bring into your life. My wife introduced me to Grimm, where Tulloch plays a character who goes through a lot but still tries to be strong and take care of herself. On my watch list is Grimm and Sons of Anarchy, and I highly recommend The Sopranos and Futurama.
